Compassion Update
I just wanted to give ya'll a little update on my Compassion fundraising. Other than people giving financially (which is great!) we've had people give their time and talent as well.
My friend Sharyn has her own jewelry company "Simply Sharyn Designs". For the month of April she donated 10% of her sales to the Compassion Resue Babies fund. I'm so excited to say it was more than she predicted and her business is taking off - yeah Sharyn! She is now in two Merle Norman stores (La Centerra in Katy and the Randalls Shopping Center at Westheimer and Gessner.
You can see Sharyn's designs by visitng her blog:http://simplysharyndesigns.blogspot.com/ or by going to her etsy store: http://www.simplysharyndesigns.etsy.com/.
Thanks so much Sharyn!! You can see some of her designs below, she does some really cute shirst too!
Another way we have been raising money is by selling concessions at some of the YMCA t-ball games. We have had friends volunteer to help and it'sbeen a great way to get our kids involved. I have a few photos below...I'll post more later. Thanks to everyone who has helped out - it is very much appreciated!

I DO
This past weekend I went to Dallas for a bridal shower and to take photos for Kurt's brother Hans and his fiance Jillian. They are getting married on June 4th in Fredricksburg. June 4th also happens to be Kurt's birthday. I was telling Braden about the wedding and mentioned that it was on Dad's birthday, he replied "Well, I guess we can't go then....". Very cute :)
I'm sooo excited about the wedding! Here are a few of my favorite photos.

Middle Man

Truitt is so funny. Several times a week we drive by a house that burned down a few months ago. He always wants to see it as we pass by and has actually had me go into the neighborhood to see what's "happening". So, the other day we drive by and he says "Ohhhhhh, look at the burned house, it's so.......burned."
Cracks me up!

Compassion
Many of you recieved an email from me about the Rescue Babies Now fundraising I'm doing. If you haven't recieved an email, it's coming :) This will be an ongoing effort and each month I will post information about Compassion and how their programs impact others literally around the globe.

In developing countries, diarrhea is one of the Big 6 Baby Killers, causing the death of 1.5 million babies every year. Diarrhea, can you believe it? Something so trivial to us here is deadly in other parts of the world. The Big 6 Baby Killers—diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria, measles, HIV/AIDS, and malnutrition—are preventable or treatable. Compassion, working through local churches and Survival Specialists, provides practical solutions like vaccinations, access to doctors, clean water, malaria nets, antibiotics, and education.
Please pray for my goal as well as the mothers and infants that this center will touch. If you would like to donate you can visit my fundraising page: http://www.firstgiving.com/suzannebox

The Compassion Mothers and Babies program provides for developing world mothers during pregnancy and for their babies in infancy and toddlerhood. 1,500 mothers and 10,000 newborns die EVERY DAY during childbirth. Many things I took for granted during pregnancy they lack - basic necessities such as prenatal care, dietary supplements, doctor visits, a skilled birth attendant and medical supplies for birth in a clean, safe environment.

Basketball
Well we finished up the basketball season last Saturday. Braden was on a team with lots of friends, he really seemed to enjoy it. He has asked to play again, so that's a good sign. They had their last game and team party afterwards, he got his trpophy and was named "most improved"...I agreed :)
