Summer

Well it's hot....and the boys have been enjoying the pools. Someone in our neighborhood is getting a pool and as we drove by Braden said "Pools cost lots of dollars, huh?" I replied "Yes they do". He then said "if I dug pools I'd do yours for free Mom". Sweet boy :)

Blake in his "suit", this thing is a lifesaver...literally! Blake is fast and it's hard to keep an eye on 3 so I'm loving this outfit.

On to Second Grade

Braden had his "celebration of learning" event the last week of school. I went up to the school and watched their class read some poems and then each child got up and read a few things about their year. Sometimes Braden seems to care less if I participate (like when they had their horse race on rodeo day, I made a decked out cardboard felt horse. I asked him if he'd like me to come see him race he replied "you already saw my horse, you made it". Oooook then.) but I could tell he was glad I had come....and so was I!

End of the year program

Truitt had his last day of preschool on Thursday, they do a little program and have a class party. His class did "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story. We used his halloween costume from 2 years back...a litle short in the legs but it worked good enough! Next year Truitt will leave Crosspoint and go to Treasure Cove. A little sad, we've been at CP for 5 years but Treasure Cove is closer to home, cheaper and right next door to the Y....need I say more?!

Waiting....

I have been asked a lot lately "Where are ya'll in the adoption process?". So here's an update. We have completed all paperwork and we were fingerprinted about 4 weeks ago. Once our papers are approved by Homeland Security we will recieve our approval (we hope!). Our agency will process our dossier and send it off to China. We are ok with waiting, God is teaching us some things in our wait. In the mean time I think I'll manage to stay busy with these guys :)

Graduation

This past weekend we went to Dallas. My sister in law, Jillian, graduated from law school - we are so proud of her! We had a nice weekend with family. The photo below is right after graduation, the boys did real well at the ceremony...after they called her name Kurt took the boys outside to run around.

Saturday we had a picnic at the park...the boys found a tree to climb.

Blake with his auntie

On Saturday evening we took the boys and caught the free trolley. They live downtown and it was only a few blocks to the stop- they loved it! Truitt wanted to sit by himself.

Makes you think....

“You and I, we are the Church, no? We have to share with our people. Suffering today is because people are hoarding, not giving, not sharing. Jesus made it very clear. Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do it to me. Give a glass of water, you give it to me. Receive a little child, you receive me.” -Mother Teresa

The Little Things

Today I was at the gym and I heard this LOUD clank of the weights being dropped. Many people turned to look, turned away and said nothing. He was obviously hurting, grabbing his knee. I was finishing up my set and was about to walk over there and see if he was ok when a young man, (maybe 16?) did exactly that. As I saw him do that I thought to myself "his mom would be proud". It is just a little thing but lots of little things make up who we are and what we become.

Lord, I pray my boys will love people - all people. When our society pushes them to choose themselves over others, great things over small things, that they would choose YOUR way. I pray that each 'little thing' they do will show your glory to others. AMEN.

Wimberley

We went to Wimberley for a girls weekend to celebrate my Nana's 83rd birthday. My grandparents used to go to Wimberley years ago and swim at blue hole with freinds (bummer, it was closed due to renovation - my grandma was was really wanting to see it again after all these years!). We had a nice time relaxing, shopping and playing games.

This is the house we rented, loved it!

Birthday girl :)

This was a photo from Pioneer town, really neat old building that had been moved to one area. We got a tour from the one guy working it...it was interesting. Admitedly had I been on my own there would have been no tour guide and I would have missed a lot of history about this neat little area.

Feeding the horses....they were very friendly. They were out front at the ranch where we stayed ...so pretty!

What's happening

Blake's is consistently using the toilet - we are very pleased. He is by no means potty trained but we'll get there, slowly but surely. Truitt loves toads! I came outside and Braden was doing this, cracked me up. He told me he could see a lizard on our porch :)
