Pine Cove

Braden and I went to mother/son camp at Pine Cove last weekend with Rebecca and Cole. We had a great time! Pine Cove is in Columbus so it was nice not to have to drive too far. We got there a little early so we found our cabin and then went for a walk. It was a good weekend, I had time with my sweet little boy (who doesn't seem so little anymore) and I got to spend time with my sister and nephew!

Friday evening we had dinner, time with the speaker and then we got to build a fort with cardboard boxes, duct tape and sheets. I am not an engineer but we managed to build something that stayed up :) We had popcorn and candy and went over some verses and questions, sweet time - just me and B.
Braden wanted to do the zip line but changed his mind on the count of 3. Needless to say we went (he had a little help!). So after doing the zip line he wans't too happy with me. I believe his words were "I'm not talking to you for the rest of the day Mom". That lasted 3 minutes. I went swimming which made everything right in the world :)

Braden loved kayaking, he was so proud. He get "stuck" and ended up floating/paddling to the edge of the water...but he still loved it!

Having a popsicle break while it rained

Riding horses was Braden's favorite part. His horse was named Donut, it seemed fitting since he was S L O W. Every time I looked back Braden was bouncing his feet off his sides and saying "come on Donut"...so funny!

Spain - final post!

Well I never finished my vacation posts.....our last stop in Spain was Pertidilla. This town was SMALL and all there was to it was the 'old town'. It looked like a place they would film a movie - so neat!

Al lof the restaurants were closed - we were there mid-day.

Preschool

Truitt started preschool last week. The first day was "good"....what's up with that? Will I ever get details from my boys?! Highly unlikely....

Labor Day Weekend

We went to the lake for a few days over the long weekend. It was rainy and pretty choppy but we still had a nice time.

First Grade

Braden had a good first day of school. The night before he asked if I was going to come to school with him and I said I could if he'd like me to - he replied "No, I know where my classroom is...". There you go....we walked him to the bus stop and off he went. I met him there after school and that was that. I didn't get many details about his day but he did say it was "good".

waiting for the bus....

Zoo

We made one last zoo trip before Braden started school. It was hot (of course) but the sun wasn't out constantly - a perfect day to be at the zoo. It was fun to spend some QT with my boys. We are SUPER excited for Dad to be home tomorrow!!

9 years

Today is our 9th anniversary. I look back and remember when I was just waiting for Kurt to "pop the question"....jeez, took forever :) It's fun to look back at "us" and see where we are now. I love it - happy anniversary baby...

The Amazon

Kurt left today on a mission trip to Brazil, more specifically the Amazon. It's a medical mission trip but he and some others will be doing manual labor (not exactly sure what). They return next Sunday...which seems very far away! Please pray for him and his team as they are far from home doing God's work. Pray for the hearts of the people there in the Amazon, for the mission team's health and safety and for a safe return home to their families. Braden has already said he misses his Dad....and the countdown begins! 1 down and 7 more days to go :)

Next stop: Pals

The next town we planned to stop in was Pals. This town was more spread out but like the other town it's "old town" was still in great shape. There are shops, cafes etc but unlike Tossa del Mar people actually live there too. So we had a walk around, we (Kurt) decided we didn't need to use our map so it took us longer than planned :) It was nice though....

Someone lives here, flowers were on the entire wall!

shops

I bought some hand made bracelets at this shop...

Costa Brava

Back to our vacation - it seems it was ages ago! One day we rented a car and drove up the Mediterranean coast (Coasta Brava), it was so georgeous! I think this was our favorite day. The first town we stopped in was Tossa Del Mar. It was small and oh so pretty....it still had it's "old town" in tact so we headed that way (photos below). It was market day and everyone was milling about....I bought a skirt for myself but could have done much more damage if allowed the time :)
