Lord, I pray my boys will love people - all people. When our society pushes them to choose themselves over others, great things over small things, that they would choose YOUR way. I pray that each 'little thing' they do will show your glory to others. AMEN.

The Little Things
Today I was at the gym and I heard this LOUD clank of the weights being dropped. Many people turned to look, turned away and said nothing. He was obviously hurting, grabbing his knee. I was finishing up my set and was about to walk over there and see if he was ok when a young man, (maybe 16?) did exactly that. As I saw him do that I thought to myself "his mom would be proud". It is just a little thing but lots of little things make up who we are and what we become.

Wimberley
We went to Wimberley for a girls weekend to celebrate my Nana's 83rd birthday. My grandparents used to go to Wimberley years ago and swim at blue hole with freinds (bummer, it was closed due to renovation - my grandma was was really wanting to see it again after all these years!). We had a nice time relaxing, shopping and playing games.
This is the house we rented, loved it!
This was a photo from Pioneer town, really neat old building that had been moved to one area. We got a tour from the one guy working it...it was interesting. Admitedly had I been on my own there would have been no tour guide and I would have missed a lot of history about this neat little area.
Feeding the horses....they were very friendly. They were out front at the ranch where we stayed ...so pretty!

Run4theChildren
Saturday was the big run - we had over 450 runners! AWESOME! Such wonderful runners, running for a great cause. Amazing sponsors and adoption organizations. Thank you to our friends that sponsored us in the run. Admittedly I did not run myself - I'm not a runner :) BUT I did organize the volunteers, does that count?? Kurt ended up not running because he twisted his ankle (it was swollen) at Braden's soccer practice...we were bummed! A shout out to my sister Melissa who helped TREMENDOUSLY with our boys and The Smiths who took Truitt to baseball photos/game. Sadly I had my camera out for only a few photos (we had a photographer there and we should have some great photos!) and none of them included myself, Kurt or Braden...again - bummed about that. Oh well, next year! I did get this cute photo of our sweet friends with Ms.Texas.

Crazy Blake
I went to a shower on Sunday night, came home and the boys were in bed. When I got Blake in the morning I noticed he had a fat lip. I asked Kurt what happened..."I don't know, I saw a bit of blood on his lip and noticed it was swollen, he didn't cry whatever he did". I then laid him down and looked in his mouth and GASP - he was missing a tooth and it was all black and blue on his gums! Well upon closer inspection the tooth was still there but it was pushed back and up into his gum. It looks like his tooth is just coming in when of course it already had. So off to the dentist. Of course he asked me what happened and I got to reply "I don't know" - nice ;) He tells me that when they're younger like Blake the tooth usually comes back down on it's own. I am praying this is what happens and that there is no infection or pulling of teeth at the age of 2!

It's a GIRL!
I wanted to let you all in on some BIG news in the Box house. We are currently in the process of adopting a little girl from China. This is something God has placed on both of our hearts for some time now. Through much prayer and consideration we are stepping out in faith and moving forward with the adoption process. We don't have too much to share right now but we have been through the first round of paperwork and are currently waiting to do our homestudy visits. The wait in China is currently topping 5 years but we are adopting a waiting child. This means the child is either older or has a physical/mental "defect".
So for our family this means 2 things:
1. Our little girl will most likely have a cleft lip/palate and will have surgery shortly after she arrives home.
2. Our wait will be considerably less, possibly 1 year.
We would appreciate prayers for our little girl. She has already been born so my prayer is that wherever she is that she is safe, cared for and loved :)
